How Do I Use My XBOX?
How
To Repair Your Xbox Console
Is
your beloved Xbox video game console acting sick? If you are a gamer addict, nothing could spell worse
news then having your game console suddenly give out. Usually,
however there are signs and symptoms that all is not well.
If you give your Xbox video game console heavy use, you may
find that it may begin to act up after a while. This is normal.
Here are some tips about the different options you have if
you think that there may be something wrong with your Xbox
video game console system.
The most common problem with most video game console systems,
including the Xbox and the Xbox 360, is that they begin
to freeze right in the middle of game play. Related to this problem
is the common Dirty Disc Error that sometimes comes onto the
screen after moments of freezing. Of course, your instinct
will be to examining the disc to see if it is indeed dirty.
This is not a bad idea. Sometimes the disc is really the problem.
If you find that your discs are indeed dirty or scratched,
you can purchase special disc cleaners and other solutions
that will get rid of some of the scratches on your discs. However,
if your discs are perfectly all right with no dings, dirt,
or scratches in sight, the problem is probably more serious.
If your discs are OK, then the problem probably has something
to do with your drive. Here are some tips for taking care of
Xbox drive problems. This is one of the most common problems
in Xbox repair. First, even if you suspect that your drive
may be dusty or dirty, don't spray canned air into the drive.
The Xbox drive is particularly sensitive, and it should not
be treated like a copy machine or other pieces of equipment
that typically respond to these types of dust-off canned air
products. If you blow canned air into your Xbox drive, chances
are you will merely succeed in spreading the dust or dirt more
evenly and deeply into the drive. Moreover, you may end up
coating the sensitive optics even more.
Here's what you can do to help your ailing disc drive. First,
purchase a standard CD/DVD cleaner. These are regular looking
CDs or DVDs, except they contain small brushes on the underside.
These are specially formulated to clean the lens of hard drives.
Many times, a simply cleaning with one of these discs is all
you will need to get your Xbox up and humming again. If this
doesn't work, you can try doing a hands-on cleaning job. Consult
your tutorial for directions about how to clean the lens of
the drive and the mirror manually. You can also learn to adjust
the potentiometer on the laser of the drive. If you determine
that something is wrong with the laser, you can purchase a
replacement laser for the drive.
However, if this does not work for you, you may have to contact
an Xbox repair expert. Before you contact someone for Xbox
repair, you will to find out the manufacturer of your specific
Xbox DVD drive. Of course, if all of this sounds like humongous
effort and stress to you, you can always simply order a replacement
drive. Sometimes drives go dead for no obvious apparent reason,
although this is mostly rare. Most of the time it is wear and
tear that eventually does the Xbox drive in. If you suspect
that wear and tear are causing the problem, it may be worth
considering purchasing a new drive to keep your Xbox video
game console system up and running again. # # # # #
