Podcasting:
Local, Regional and World News
One
of the best ways to utilize your Podcasting skills is to
Podcast the news. Whether you choose to Podcast
local, regional, or worldly events, it does not matter. Many
people will be highly interested in what you have to say about
the news today. You can do many series but make sure each one
focuses on a specific topic. Podcasts are usually only 10-15
minutes maximum with the shorter types being most popular to
the public. You will want to pick whether your newscast will
be local, regional, or worldly. After you have decided what
locations to cover, choose a specific topic of interest that
can be updated daily or weekly with ease. Podcasting new and
exciting things that happen each day really appeal to the public.
The weather is also another hit in the Podcast circle.
Local
news is a great way to begin a Podcast. You know more
about your own town or city than any one who does not live
there. Why not inform others of what is going on. You can choose
to give weather updates when severe weather is pending and
also daily forecasts. Your Podcast can give current events
going on in the area. If there are any special arts and/or
entertainment events going on at anytime it is good Podcast
material. You can give a quick run down on what is happening
each day in the headlines of your town as well. Any of these
are great Podcasts to start. People want to be able to hear
their local news on demand and at anytime. The working people
may miss the news before and after work. Being able to download
a local news Podcast will really go far.
Regional
news is also a hot commodity. You will be able to
give an overall view of what is going on in the region you
live in. For example, if you live in New England you can keep
people informed of the local seasonal attractions. On the coasts
you can talk about what state parks and lighthouses that are
available to view in the summer. During the fall you can Podcast
about when the peak foliage times are in the area. For those
people who do a lot of state to state traveling daily traffic
forecasts can be a great Podcast resource. News that is also
going to affect the whole region will also be a good Podcast
audio. Many people also would be interested in the entertainment
and food options in the entire region they live in. Many times
a nice drive for dinner and a night out can be great. Podcasting
for the whole region gives more options to people who live
in close proximately of neighboring areas.
World
news Podcasting is a fabulous idea just because the
possibilities are endless. You can do them on world politics
and conflict, which is always of interest to most people. You
can focus more on other areas like what is going on in sports,
what type of economical issues are plaguing the world today,
or just general information about what is happening daily around
the world. These will all be good Podcast newsreels that are
interesting to many. If you are going for world issues then
you need to stay focused on specific Podcast issue. Your Podcasts
should remain relatively short, approximately 10 to 15 minutes
at best. This gives your people the right information they
are looking for but keep it constrained for easy viewing. It
is better to do many short news Podcasts that sequel each other
than have one really long one that no one has the time to watch.
The news can be a very hot thing for Podcasting and for those
producing them. There is always a need for fresh voices and
opinions when it comes to the ins and outs we have to deal
with everyday. It does not matter whether it is local or worldwide,
there is always something going on somewhere and people who
are dying to know about it. Podcasting can help people keep
each other informed of what is going on around us daily. With
crazy lives and crazy work schedules, many people today do
not have the time or capacity to watch the news when it is
on that second. Podcasting will enable people to get it when
they want it. # # # # #
